Farm happenings
Our first farm death. The chicken that died didn't have a name. Most of the chickens don't have names, the kids call random chickens names but you really can't tell the difference. So a chicken died.
I was there with it.
It was horrific.
In other news. I canned 4 pints of strawberry preserves and still have enough for 4 more but I'm going to leave them frozen for now.
The rain seems like it's been constant, and thankfully I mulched the garden enough that it isn't flooding the plants out. The tomatoes are looking like living creatures they're so huge.
Theodore is doing well still. He is really pretty adorable. I bought him pig chow today and am going to just supplement his diet with the table scrap goodies. He LOVES plantain and it's growing ALL over the yard. If the weather is nice enough tomorrow I'm going to have the kids go out tomorrow to gather it all up so I can freeze it for Theodore later.
I'm still dreaming of Evangeline my jersey cow in fairbury. When we get back from Florida, we'll go visit her.
