Farm happenings
TOday was stock up at the farmers market day. So today will be small scale preserving day. Green beans will be blanched and frozen. Tomatoes will be turned into sauce. I'll also be trying out Gwendolyn Hoffs fantastic pickle recipe! Doug loved it last time. And of course I bought 7 lbs of potatoes and already had a bag of them at home. So if time allows, I'll can the old potatoes.
Oh wait and then there's more. The pool ladders are loved by the chickens forroosting, but the poop situation is getting out of control in there. Because they're on different levels, the lower chickens come out in the mornings with big turds on their backs. Yuck!! So trey and I are going to put our heads together and try and figure out a way to handle this.
Evangeline's name is going to remain Bethel. Maybe Evangeline will be her middle name. But I love that they named her Bethel and it's seeped into my heart. So with her coming in a week I'm going to start cleaning out the small outbuilding so we can get a stall in there for her
