Farm happenings
Strawberries are just about done. Theodore has been getting the ones we can't eat, usually mixed in with some milk. Yum for Theodore! He HATES getting wet, so the rain yesterday had him on edge. He hunkered down in one of his three houses and just stayed dry
Speaking of storms, we had three come through yesterday. The last one was nuts. Well the wind was nuts. It was bad enough to get us in the basement. The back door almost got thrown off the hinges, a huge tree branch fell on one of the wires and the glass table in the backyard was picked up and thrown down. The most traumatic event was Ronald's pen being picked up and thrown 30 feet....with him in it. So after the storm I went out to check and see if his many lives were spent.
They weren't.
He was just sitting in there wondering what was going on. So I freed him and let him run to find better shelter.
Ronald is now without night time shelter. So we noticed that he had been hanging around the chicken coop acting like an actual rooster when the girls were out. So we extended their outdoor pen today and tossed him in with them.
Ronald was a new man.
He was crowing like crazy and showing off for the girls. So we had them together for the day. Everyone got along well so were going to try a sleepover tonight. 😬. I hope he behaves.
